1.0.1 to 1.1
This page describes what changes when opening a file saved with Cognio DesignOps 1.0 or 1.0.1 in version 1.1. For how file versioning works in general, see File Versioning.
Files from 1.0 and 1.0.1 have no version recorded. Cognio treats them as 1.0.1 files and upgrades them to 1.1 when you open or import them. The next time you save, the file is written in the 1.1 format.
What Changes in Your Design
As much as possible, the upgrade keeps your design looking and behaving as it did in 1.0.1. The following changes are made so that your design works with the features added in 1.1:
| Item | Change |
|---|---|
| Toggle cap style | In 1.1, a Toggle's cap style can be different for each state. Each Toggle's existing cap style is copied to both states, so it looks the same as before. See Toggle. |
| Labels | Labels created as simple text shapes in earlier versions are updated to the 1.1 Label control, so they continue to appear on the Control Panel. |
| Control themes | Themes gain the settings for the new Readout label. See Label. |
| Module configurations | Saved module configurations are reassigned to the Toolkit modules they belong to. See Module Configurations below. |
New Options Start in Their Previous State
Options added in 1.1 start in the state that matches how the design worked in 1.0.1, so nothing changes until you turn them on:
- Control Panel Groups are not locked, and Vertical Scrolling and Fit Width To View are off.
- Buttons and Labels show no icon.
- Faders show their fader.
- Custom text on Radio Buttons and Droplists is kept.
Module Configurations
In 1.0.1, saved module configurations were grouped by the type of processing a module performs. In 1.1, they are grouped by Toolkit module. When a 1.0.1 module configuration is upgraded, it is assigned to the Toolkit module it came from.
Some Toolkit modules share the same type of processing, and a 1.0.1 configuration does not record which of them it was saved from. Configurations for these modules are copied to every module of that type, so none are lost:
- Crossovers — A configuration saved from any crossover appears under the Subwoofer, 2-Way, 3-Way, and 4-Way crossovers.
- Scripted Modules — A configuration saved from any Scripted Module appears under every Scripted Module.
After upgrading, you may see these copies under modules they were not saved from. Delete any copies you do not need.
Syncing After Upgrading
Cognio DesignOps 1.1 can sync only with Smart Devices running 1.1 firmware. Update each device's firmware before you sync an upgraded design. See Syncing with Hardware.
