Overview

The menu bar appears along the top of the software and provides access to common commands, abilities, and windows.

Generally, functionality that is already available through the main UI (e.g. controls like mute and select networks in the Navigation Bar) are NOT available in menus.

Keyboard shortcuts shown next to a menu item are Global Shortcuts and are available no matter which main view is selected. Shortcuts shown here are shown for Windows. Additional shortcuts are listed in Key Commands.

Functionality

File

  • New Site - Ctrl+N
  • Open Site - Ctrl+O
  • Open Recent - Lists recently opened sites. Choose Clear Recent Sites to empty the list.
  • Save Site - Ctrl+S
  • Save Site As - Ctrl+Shift+S
  • Pull Site From Hardware - Opens the Pull Site From Hardware dialog, which retrieves the Site file archived on a Smart Device.

  • Save status - A greyed-out item that shows the current save status of the site, for example Not Yet Saved.
  • Exit

Edit

  • Undo - Ctrl+Z
  • Redo - Ctrl+Y

  • Paste Settings

  • Select All - Ctrl+A

Undo and Redo

Undo and Redo are available in the Space view and in the Control Panel Group editor.

  • Each Space and each Control Panel Group keeps its own undo history. Undo only reverses changes made in the view you are currently working in.
  • In the Control Panel Group editor, Undo and Redo are available only in Design mode. You can undo adding, deleting, moving, and resizing controls, as well as changes to control settings and mapping.
  • In any other view, Undo and Redo are unavailable.

View

  • Toggle Full Screen - F11
  • Reset Zoom - Ctrl+=
  • Zoom Out
  • Zoom In

Site

The Site menu displays functionality that acts on the Site View. Because there is only one site open at a time, this menu is available even if you are not currently looking at the Site View.

  • Site Properties - Shows the properties of the Site.

Space

The Space menu displays functionality that acts on the Space view you are currently working in. If you are working in another view, most of the items in this menu are greyed out.

  • Duplicate Space
  • Select Module
    • Above - Ctrl+Up
    • Below - Ctrl+Down
    • Left - Ctrl+Left
    • Right - Ctrl+Right
  • Add Module to Selection
    • Above - Shift+Up
    • Below - Shift+Down
    • Left - Shift+Left
    • Right - Shift+Right
  • Move Selected Module(s)
    • Up - Alt+Up
    • Down - Alt+Down
    • Left - Alt+Left
    • Right - Alt+Right

Control Panel

The Control Panel menu displays functionality that acts on the currently viewed Control Panel View. If you are working in another view, many of the items in this menu are greyed out.

  • New Control Panel Group
  • Duplicate

Tools

The Tools menu groups items that open manager windows for controlling specialized functionality.

Help

  • Training - Opens the Symetrix training site (https://symetrix.talentlms.com/) in your default browser.
  • Documentation - Ctrl+Shift+F1 - Opens this documentation in your default browser.
  • Support - Opens the Symetrix support site (https://www.symetrix.co/support-contact) in your default browser.
  • Provide Feedback - Opens the Cognio feedback site (https://symetrix.featurebase.app/) in your default browser.
  • About - Displays the About box.
