Overview

The menu bar appears along the top of the software and provides access to common commands, abilities, and windows.

Generally, functionality that is already available through the main UI (e.g. controls like mute and select networks in the Navigation Bar) are NOT available in menus.

Most menu items will have keyboard shortcuts. These are Global Shortcuts and will be available no matter which main view is selected. Some exact shortcuts will be determined at a later date. Shortcuts shown here are shown for Windows. Mac will replace keys following convention unless otherwise explicitly noted (Ctrl > Cmd, Alt > Option). Additional information can be found in Keyboard Shortcuts.

Functionality

File

  • New Site - Ctrl+N
  • Open Site - Ctrl+O
  • Open Recent
  • Save Site - Ctrl+S
  • Save Site As - Ctrl+Shift+S
  • Pull Site from Hardware and Open

Edit

  • Undo - Ctrl+Z
  • Redo - Ctrl+Y

View

  • Zoom In - Ctrl+=
  • Zoom Out - Ctrl+-
  • Zoom to Fit - Ctrl+0 - This command zooms in or out to fit all the modules on the screen with one cell buffer in top left (if possible) and bottom right.
  • Reset Zoom - TBD

Site

The Site menu displays functionality that acts on the Site View. Because there is only one site open at a time, some functionality of this menu may be active even if the user is not currently looking at the Site View, although there might be some functionality that is only available when the Site tab is active.

  • Site Properties
  • Site Manager Setup - Opens the Site Manager Setup Window. This may be a developer only feature or otherwise hidden in the future, but for now a menu item will be useful.
  • Select Device - (Signal Path > First Smart Device > Managed Devices > Control Panel Groups)
  • Previous - Up
  • Next - Down
  • Move Selected Device (or Signal Path as selected)
  • Up - Ctrl+Up
  • Down - Ctrl+Down

Signal Flow Segment

The Signal Path menu displays functionality that acts on the currently viewed Signal Flow Segment View. If the user is currently working on another view, most of the items in this menu will be greyed out and not have a function.

  • Select Module
  • Above - Ctrl+Up
  • Below - Ctrl+Down
  • Left - Ctrl+Left
  • Right - Ctrl+Right
  • Add Module to Selection
  • Above - Shift+Up
  • Below - Shift+Down
  • Left - Shift+Left
  • Right - Shift+Right
  • Move Selected Module(s)
  • Up - Alt+Up
  • Down - Alt+Down
  • Left - Alt+Left
  • Right - Alt+Right

Control Panel

The Control Panel menu displays functionality that acts on the currently viewed Control Panel View. If the user is currently working on another view, many of the items in this menu will be greyed our and not have a function.

  • New Control Panel Group
  • Select Control Panel (All Control Panels View)
  • Above - Up
  • Below - Down
  • Left - Left
  • Right - Right

Tools

The Tools menu groups items that generally display managers windows for controlling specialized functionality

  • Presets Manager - Ctrl+G
  • All Control Panel Groups
  • Shared Module Manager
  • Linked Controls Manager

Custom Control Theme Manager

  • Application Preferences

Help

  • Documentation - Ctrl+Shift+F1 - Opens documentation in default browser
  • Training - Opens Training website in default browser - https://www.symetrix.co/training/
  • Support - Opens Support website in default browser - https://www.symetrix.co/support/

  • Check for Update... - checks for an available update on the Symetrix website. If available, displays dialog with change details and one click update button or cancel button.
