Modifier Modal
The Modifier Modal lets you assign and link one or more module controls directly from the Modifier Panel in the Space view. It has three modes:
- Control Panel - Add controls to a Control Panel Group, as unplaced controls or by dragging them onto a Control Panel.
- Preset - Add controls to a Preset, or update their stored values.
- Link Controls - Link controls so they follow each other.
When the Modifier Modal Is Available
The Modifier Modal Button appears in the lower-right corner of the Modifier Panel when all of the following are true:
- You are in Design mode.
- The Controls tab of the Modifier Panel is open. For a device, the I/O tab also shows the button.
- The current selection has controls to work with.
Open a Mode
- In the Space view, select the module or modules whose controls you want to work with.
- In the Modifier Panel, open the Controls tab.
- Hover over the Modifier Modal Button to show the three modes: Control Panel, Preset, and Link Controls. Hover over a mode to see its name.
-
Click the mode you want.
When a mode is active, the Modifier Modal Button changes color, and a panel opens along the bottom of the Modifier Panel:
- In Control Panel and Preset modes, the panel is titled Add To Control Panel or Add To Preset. Use its list to choose the Control Panel Group or Preset to work with. A legend beside the list explains what each control outline means; when the Modifier Panel is narrow, click the help button next to the title to see the legend instead.
- In Link Controls mode, the panel lists the control links for the selected modules.
Working with Controls in a Mode
While a mode is active, the controls in the Modifier Panel stop behaving as normal controls. Clicking or dragging a control acts on it for the current mode, for example adding it to a Control Panel Group or a Preset, instead of changing its value. In Control Panel and Preset modes, each control is outlined to show its relationship to the selected Control Panel Group or Preset.
Hold Alt to use the controls normally, for example to adjust a value, without leaving the mode. In Control Panel and Preset modes, holding Alt also hides the outlines.
The mode stays open when you change which modules are selected, so you can move from module to module and keep working. If nothing with controls is selected, the panel is simply empty.
Close the Modifier Modal
Click the Modifier Modal Button again to close the current mode and return the controls to normal.
The Modifier Modal also closes automatically when you:
- Switch to a different view or Space.
- Open the Properties tab of the Modifier Panel.
- Switch to Operation mode.
