Key Commands

Fast Fish software makes liberal use of Keyboard shortcuts. Where it makes sense, we have tried to retain similar shortcuts as Composer, but there are many cases that the workflow does not match.

Any shortcuts marked global are active no matter which of the Main Views is active. If a shortcut is not marked Global, it is only active on its particular Main View.

See Menu Bar

  • Ctrl+Tab Cycles through view tabs from left to right.

  • Ctrl+Shift+Tab Cycles through view tabs from right to left.

  • Ctrl+1 through Ctrl+8 Jumps to the first 8 tabs (1 being the first tab and 8 being the 8th). If a number is used that is higher than the visible tabs, it will jump to the last available tab.

  • Ctrl+9 Jumps to the right-most tab.

Signal Flow Workspace

Zooming

  • Ctrl+= Resets Zoom

  • Ctrl+Scroll Up Zooms in

  • Ctrl+Scroll Down Zooms out

Add/Delete Row/Col

  • Ctrl+Click on add row/col - Multiplies addition/subtraction of rows/cols by 5

  • Shift+Click on add row/col - Multiplies by - 1 which deletes rows/cols

Move Module(s)

  • Alt+Up Move selected module(s) up

  • Alt+Down Move selected module(s) down

  • Alt+Left Move selected module(s) left

  • Alt+Right Move selected module(s) right

Select Module(s)

  • Shift+Up Select module(s) above current selected module(s)

  • Shift+Down Select module(s) below current selected module(s)

  • Shift+Left Select module(s) to the left of current selected module(s)

  • Shift+Right Select module(s) to the right of current selected module(s)

Module Clipboard Operations

  • Copy: Ctrl+C While Module(s) selected, adds it/them to copy buffer

  • Cut: Ctrl+X While Module(s) selected, adds it/them to copy buffer AND deletes selected modules

  • Paste: Ctrl+V Pastes Copy buffer into top left of currently selected cells. If no cell selected, does nothing. REPLACES selected module if a single module is selected with nothing else.

  • Paste with Insert: Ctrl+Alt+V Pastes Copy buffer into top left of currently selected cells. If no cell selected, does nothing. INSERTS selected module if a single module is selected with nothing else.

  • Duplicate: Ctrl+D Duplicates the selected modules below the originals.

Control View

  • Select All: Ctrl+A Selects all controls in the control view

  • Duplicate: Ctrl+D Duplicates the currently selected control(s).

  • Copy: Ctrl+C While Controls(s) selected, adds it/them to copy buffer

  • Cut: Ctrl+X While Controls(s) selected, adds it/them to copy buffer AND deletes selected modules

  • Paste: Ctrl+V Pastes Copy buffer to the right of a copied control(s), or in place of a cut control(s). Subsequent pastes will continue to place the control buffer controls to the right of the last ones with one column of space.

  • Del Deletes any selected controls.

Custom Control Theme Manager (CCTM)

  • Force delete: Shift+Click delete button

This skips the prompt asking the user if they are sure they want to delete the theme.

Global Keyboard Shortcuts

There are some additional Global Keyboard Shortcuts that are available on all screens that don't (yet) have a menu item.

  • Show/Hide Toolkit - There is an on screen control for this in the top of the toolkit

  • Show/Hide Modifier Panel - There is an onscreen control for this at the top of the toolkit.
